I should have loved this film. I dislike overlong, loud, story- and character-lite blockbusters and this is the antithesis - small, quiet, character, plot (and location) driven, led by actors I love and admire, notably Maggie Smith, Laura Linney, Kathy Bates, Stephen Rea.
Sadly, for me it did not deliver. It was just too unengaging, too quiet, and I found it hard to get over Maggie Smith's unfortunate attempt at an Irish accent.
As my first cinema outing in many many months, I was very disappointed.
