ORIGIN
Howard Stern is an American talk show host, photographer, author and television personality. He’s best know for his long running show, The Howard Stern Show, which currently broadcasts via satellite radio. Howard was born to Bernard and Ray Stern on January 12, 1954 in New York. He has an older sister named “Ellen”. Growing up, Stern attend Hebrew school and took piano lessons for five years. He later attended South Side High School followed by Boston University. While at BU, Stern played music and hosted interviews on the campus radio station. He graduated in 1976 with a degree in communications.

CAREER
In 1975, Stern earned a first class radio-telephone operator license, followed by a broadcasters certificate from the FCC. His professional debut was at the radio station, WNTN, in Massachusetts. He was hired by the New York radio station, WRNW, in 1976 to cover their midday shift. Stern was named production and program director a year later. Upon quitting in 1979, he worked for a string of other stations including WCCC, WWWW, WWDC and WNBC.

Stern signed a five year contract in 1985 to host afternoons on the New York station, WXRK. This new contract gave him the freedom to explore controversial topics like race and sex. He started syndicating the show and by 1993 the program had over 3 million daily listeners. Numerous fines and fights with the FCC prompted Stern to sign a broadcasting deal with Sirius Satellite Radio in 2005. He began broadcasting in January 2006. Stern is an eight time winner of Billboard’s Nationally Syndicated Air Personality Award. The self-proclaimed “King of All Media” released his autobiography, Private Parts, in 1993. The book was a commercial success, spending a full month on The New York Times bestseller list.

Howard Stern is 6ft 5in and has a net worth of $600 million. He was married to first wife “Alison Berns (1978-2001)” and they have three children, Emily, Deborah and Ashley. Stern married current wife and model “Beth Ostrosky” in 2008. He’s also dated actresses Angie Everhart and Robin Givens.
