As per reports, Bhushan Singh Bedi underwent surgery two weeks ago in Delhi, where he was hospitalised.
Bishan Singh Bedi, born on September 25, 1946, in Amritsar, Punjab, had a notable cricket career from 1966 to 1979. Bedi played a pivotal role in India's inaugural ODI victory and captained the team during the 1971 Test series win against England.
Widely regarded as one of India's finest spin bowlers, Bedi made a remarkable debut. His skilful use of subtle variations in his bowling often left batsmen bewildered.
Bishan Singh Bedi also made his acting debut with R Balki’s Ghoomer which also features Angad Bedi. The late cricketer appeared in a cameo.
